Testimonials

Below are some testiminials from our valued customers.
Tour Manager
Kristine – Brilliant. Very personable, helpful, well-organised, good English and a sense of humour. Kristine kept us well informed of any changes in arrangements (e.g. meeting times) and managed us, the drivers and local guides to perfection.

Local Guides
The majority of the local guides were first-class, providing excellent commentary and having good English. There was only guide/excursion that we felt came up short – the Jewish Quarter and Schindler’s Museum tour in Krakow. This was an ‘optional’ excursion for which we paid €40 each (total of NZ$140) – considering there was no transfer involved (we walked from/to the hotel), the cost seemed disproportionate to the quality of the excursion. The tour was supposed to be 3 hours in duration but ended up being less than 2 hours. In addition, the tour guide appeared to ‘rush us through’ the museum, giving brief explanations and then moving us onto the next point of interest. Her English was difficult to understand, and we felt that we would have liked more time to look at the exhibits, read the personal accounts and take photos of this high profile attraction.

Accommodation
The standard of accommodation was very good/excellent. The majority of the rooms were comfortable and spacious. A couple of the hotel rooms were on the small side and floor space not big enough to adequately accommodate luggage for two people and allow space for moving around. The two hotels concerned were: INX Design Hotel, Krakow and Hotel Adria, Prague. However, all the hotels were very conveniently situated, within walking distance of restaurants, cafes and local transport where this was required.

Itinerary
The coverage of Eastern Europe was comprehensive, and the local guides provided all the information we could have possibly wanted – and more! Many of the places visited had a real ‘WOW’ factor (e.g. Grand Palace of Peterhof, Rundale Palace and Park, Kremlin), or an OMG factor (e.g. Hill of Crosses, Lithuania; Wolf’s Lair, Poland; Latvian Soviet bunker, Ligatne; Wieliczka Salt mines, near Krakow). Other sights were extremely interesting, thought-provoking, stunning/lavish – and educational. There was not a single excursion/attraction on the itinerary that we didn’t enjoy. A good balance between ‘organised’ and ‘at leisure’ time. We were happy with the length of stay in each place – two or three nights in most of the places visited made for a better opportunity to explore the city/town and a more relaxing time not having to ‘move on’ every morning.

Group Size
Having only 14 people in the group was great. Apart from making it easier for the guides to manage, especially when there were huge crowds in some places such as Prague, entry into museums, palaces, etc was a lot more efficient than was the case with the many tour groups of 30+ people; we couldn’t help but draw the comparison and appreciate the benefits of our small number. Having a large bus for 14 people was also a bonus, with plenty of room to ‘spread out’! We quickly got to know everyone well and all in the group were inclusive and friendly. The indications, as we said our good-byes, were that contact with at least some of our fellow travellers will be maintained in the future.

Our trip to the Chathams was more than we expected and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and our tour guide was excellent. We are so pleased we went and are considering going back as we would like to go to Pitt Island. Thanks for putting the ad in the Kiwi Gardner magazine which brought it to our attention.

This tour was amazing. Thank you for the memories, I will be back to book again!

Thank you for organising our Chatham Island Trip. It was absolutely awesome! The choice of the Lodge was a total winner with amazing hosts, chefs, and tour guides. Our 1-hour scenic flight turned into a 3-hour flight plus landing on Pitt Island and being driven to Glory Bay and seeing the oldest Doc Hut in NZ!

So this very worthwhile experience of the Chathams is now ticked off my bucket list!

As a couple of octogenarians, we sometimes wondered if we may have bitten off more than we could chew, while we were in the final stages of planning for our African Safari with The Tour Company. We needn't have worried! Their African colleagues were absolutely amazing, and once we reached Africa, everything fell into place, and we had the most marvellous experience. Our tour guides were quite exceptional - knowledgeable, experienced, with excellent vehicles, and really they couldn't do enough to help us. As for our accomodations - we were a little worried in the planning stages about "Tent Camps" but what luxury? The various lodges, camps, and hotels, were absolutely superb, and added hugely to our enjoyment. We saw the most amazing animals - a pride of 9 lions walked about 10 meters away from us - elephants galore - giraffes every day, and to top it all, two BLACK Rhinos, and they are nearly extinct. Too many wonderful sights for us to tell you about. We saw :The Big Five" game animals on at least 3 different days. We also walked with Cheetahs - what magnificent animals. And another highlight was our visit to the Victoria Falls - what a majestic sight! This trip far exceeded our expectations, and we give it our most hearty recommendation to anyone thinking about the holiday of a lifetime - you are in for a real treat - so go for it!

Thanks to all who organized the tour - my first tour and I was impressed! Special thanks to your tour host for her empathetic presence - quietly making sure all ran smoothly - open to any variations individuals chose.

We had a fabulous time and saw amazing scenery and sights. Both tours were great, loved that we did not have to get up early every morning to be on a bus somewhere else. Our Tour Leaders, were fun, full of knowledge and helpful. The cruise and the ship were both enjoyable, we had a lovely cabin with a balcony.

Our Singapore stop over was very good, the SIA vouchers were very handy and the transfers to the hotels efficient.

This is the Anniversary of my July tour to England and I wanted to let you know I had the most marvellous time and enjoyed the tour host. I hope to have more time to travel again next year as I'm retiring and am interested in Euro gardens and Italy.
